  • NSW Wrecking or complete; 2002 Bora 4Motion Sport

    Hi All,

    The reason this car is where it is; The oil cooler (or supporting pipes) have cracked allowing all oil from the engine to leak into the cooling system. While the cooler and pipes can be replaced (relatively) cheaply, it has likely damaged the radiator internals and other cooling components. When this happened I turned the engine off before it stalled/stopped/exploded. I have no reason to believe that the block is not ok.

    I absolutely love this car and its breaking my heart seeing it in the driveway everyday and not being able to drive it. I'd love for it to go to somebody who will fix it. Its got a lot of heart.

    I do honestly think that fixing the cooling system will return the car to a fully functional vehicle (besides abs, a/c - see below).

    I'll sell the entire vehicle as it sits for $3k.

    Mechanics/Condition;
    * Car has done ~245k's
    * Broken oil cooler / pipes - oil/coolant sludge in cooling system.
    * Possibly killed cooling system.
    * Engine stopped (probably) before damage done - should be ok but can't confirm.
    * ABS funky - the latitude sensor needs replacing as the ABS can engage early.
    * O2 sensors need replacing - car runs fine though and around town gets ~12l/100k's.
    * A/C doesn't work - fault codes are; 00792 - A/C Pressure Switch (F129), 01274 - Air Flow Flap Positioning Motor (V71)
    * Rear pads / discs are low.
    * Paint is ok. Not great though.
    * Fat folder of all receipts / work from previous owner included.
    * Oil change by me every 15k's

    Bits;
    * Sport 17's - some superficial damage (scratches, curbing), could do with a rub back and respray but still look good.
    * Brand new (sub 1000k's old) Continental Contimax 5.
    * Bilstein B8's (sub 10,000k's old) with Eibach springs. Sits nicely and feels awesome
    * Full leather (in reasonable condition) with all donut headrests ('Sport' on the front two.)
    * Slotted RDA front discs with Remsa pads
    * Swapped out woodgrain - replaced with OEM black trim. Two pieces missing (I was painting some) and gear knob is original.
    * Dieselgeek short shifter
    * All badges removed and only black front & rear 'VW' logos retained
    * K&N panel filter
    * Fumoto valve

    Extras (these can be negotiated with other parts or thrown in with the car if bought in full);
    * 2nd set of reasonable Joey'd headlights (for USDM, I used these while polishing my originals)
    * 10mm spacers and bolts. the hub centric bit has been ground off, should be ok but I didn't want to use them.
    * BEL braided brake lines
    * ECS crackpipe kit with billet gruvenparts pipe, sensor, pipes etc
    * All other original bits; trim, shift linkage, silver badges

    I'm on the Northern Beaches in Sydney.

    Please register interest for parts, I'll keep a list maintained in this thread, 2nd post. I'll wait till new years for somebody to buy the whole thing though.

              Will start the parting out process after new years to give people the opportunity to buy the whole thing.

                    I'd really like the wheels if they're good for tyres. Would you take 400?
