Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC Cross flow 8v twin DCOE manifold

Up for grabs is a cross flow 8v manifold to suit twin DCOE carbs.

VAG 2046 is the part number

Ideally I would like to swap for counter flow manifold, but will sell for $225. Can ship at buyers expense

That should fit all 8V heads. From memory your 16V has more bolts, correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, this will fit a crossflow 8v engine, but won't fit a 16v.

Will not fit a counterflow due to the mounting holes being different. That and the engine slant means it will only work on the front of the head

Yes this has sold. I picked it up years ago from the US (vortex carb forum). They are not that common, but just keep your eyes open.

If you want brand new then the Chadil ones like this one are EUR350......

If you are looking for a cheap one, Rowland are as cheap as they come. They do require a little fettling to clear all the intake bolts and studs (studs won't work on the bottom because they foul on the runners)

Value-for-money cannot be beaten compared to any other new items though.

Get it through Rowland directly rather than through their US distributor. When I got mine it was about 200ish with shipping. I can get you a firm price if you require, but probably just as easy to email them directly for a quote
