    UPDATE:

ANS-410 has been corrected to ANS-420.

The ANS-410 is the exact same unit but in silver colour, so take your pick!

I have corrected all 410 customer's interest to the 420 by default since that was the unit pictured, please advise if you want the 410 silver unit.

It'll still have to wait for final confirmation next week when the time runs out, but we have 7 now guys.. 1 more for further $20 off

That would incidentally bring these units to about the introductory offer price for when ANS-810 and 510 were first offered and Audiosources was running a promotion (sub $600). Smashing deal since they go for ~$700 landed direct from the manufacturer with GPS software

I might be interested. I have a MY11 Caddy Maxi Life that has the RCD310 in it.

            Is it a straight swap?

I am in Sydney. Anyone know where I could get someone to install it?

Lastly, on the Bluetooth phone, is all the hardware in this, or is additional hardware needed? I have read that some have a BT modyle under the seat.

Yes it does, see the link to my main ANS-810 / 510 thread for details, it's all there. All information on the ANS-810 / 510 applies across the entire ANS range of products other than screen size and vehicle compatibility.

I know someone down Sydney who should have some installer contacts, I can ask for you but it's a straight plug and play job, any half competent installer should be able to do it. I would do it myself though it's honestly so easy on the majority of cars (yours included) that it's not worth paying someone else.

The bluetooth does not require anything else to operate, everything is working out of the box.

For your car in this group buy you would need the ANS-610.

Example of removing the unit on a 2006 Caddy - procedure is identical on yours and most cars except the Golf 5:

              http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5udAmuv5f1o

Basically, pry out one piece of trim, undo 4 torx screws, unplug unit and that's it. Then to install, plug in ANS, find a place to fix the GPS antenna (which is magnetic but you could also use double sided tape), redo screws, clip trim back in.

Thanks for the reply. I know it's woosy, but until you do one, you don't know how hard to push or prod things and I would hate to break anything. Also it is the Torx screws for which I do not have drivers.

I am very interested, and will let you know by the deadline.

The only thing in danger of breaking is the clips on the trim when you pry it off, but that's only if you're careless or rough with it. Also if you have a VW a torx set is going to be very useful, it's only going to cost you ~$30 for a basic set of tools, and you never know when it could come in handy. This is also one of the easiest mods you can do yourself on the car, so I'd highly recommend it unless you don't plan to touch anything beneath the surface.

I'll put you down as interested on the front page so I have a list of everyone I will follow up.

There is a thread in the Audio section with the list of people who installed audio unit to VAG cars. The ANS installation shouldn't be any different to RNS units and probably someone from that list should be able to help you.

If you were in Adelaide, I could do it for you, no probs.

Thanks Transporter, that might be a good idea - only difference would be a couple of plugs at the back but you really can't get them wrong. Maybe you can even ask for a discount because there's no VCDS coding required

not sure if my reply worked ?
i would love to find a way to squeeze an 8" unit into my t-reg but i think the ans510 will have to do
can you supply one with a dtv module?

The Touareg version is the ANS-710 with a 7" screen so it is still bigger than stock, check the first post of this thread

I can indeed supply the DTV module, price is $95 for a high speed HD dual antenna tuner with two antennas included. You can opt for high speed SD for $75 or low speed SD for $60 if you'd like.

i might be wrong but it looks like the units are the same size and the 8 inch screen was achieved by making the buttons slimmer...

Yup of course, it can't be physically bigger than the fascia allows - that would be a nasty surprise. I think what was meant was that the ANS-810 (8" model that I stock) would be nice but it wouldn't fit the Touareg since he needs the ANS-710 (not 510) style unit

If I get it, I'll give it a go first. I suppose being only 12 months old, the plastic should be slightly more flexible I'll take the advice on the YouTube clip and put some vaseline on the clips to make it easier to remove if I have to do so for any reason.
