Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC 2.5" --Electric Exhaust Cutout-- For Sale! [NEW]

I just bought this new a couple of weeks ago. Reason for sale is that I decided to go with a full exhaust rebuild instead.

    Perfect condition.
Bought for over 200$ with 1 months wait on postage.
Selling for 150$ atm. Can deliver within 60km Melbourne CBD radius, post, pick-up etc.

Interstate postage should be around 10$. I can double check for you if you wish.
I look at my V-Dub, and all I can think is....."Dat Ass....."

So assuming it just goes between the cat back and manifold?

And when it's open it's like having no exhaust, when it's closed it's just like normal?

Sorry for the noob questions never seen one of these but seems like a sweet product

You can put it anywhere you want really. But I would recommend after both your O2 sensors so you don't get any ECU issues.
The area between both O2 sensors is quite tight, so I don't know about your R32, I'd recommend looking under there and checking the space. I know it'll definitely fit after your cat though.

Yes with the switch on, it's extremely loud because it's venting straight to atmosphere. With the switch off its stock. Though you can also open it half way if you want it in the middle.

Costs vary depending on where you go for install, I know Dandy exhausts install them for about 100$ish, but an electrician has to do the wiring if you aren't comfortable doing it yourself. They will probably charge ~80$
