  • NSW EOI Polycarbonate mk1 windows

    hey guys
Going to do a set of polycarbonate aka lexan windows for the mk1, all the fixed glass will be dupilcated in 3mm polycarbonate(ie front quarter , rear sides 2 dr and rear screen). unsure of a pricing scale but with an expression of interest i can get together some prices.

Polycarbonate offers very high impact strength, is virtually unbreakable and has a high modulus of elasticity. It has a high heat deflection capability and absorbs very little moisture, and has low frequency and high voltage insulating characteristics, properties that make polycarbonate a prime material for electrical and electronic components. Its strength , impact resistance and transparency make it an ideal material for various structural applications.

Unsure on both fronts , I don't see them being a problem re rego . Apparently it's not scratch resistant by any means, but shouldn't be a problem for a non daily ride.

Have been looking at the mar resistant ( scratch proof ) poly and it runs for up to 4x the normal. Going to do a set over the next few days hopefully in normal and see how they fair.
