Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I havent done the maths yet... but if a whole system cost less the KW V3's... put me down!
management kits can vary from $700aud up to $4,000+ it all depends on how fussy you are and how lazy you get

Can you Pm details of who you would buy locally from for the rest of the kit so I can price it all up??

thanks mate... this could be all my blessing in one!!!!!!!!!!
righto, "KITS" involve both front and rear bilstein sport struts with bags instead of springs... the reason i say buy the management kit locally is if something fouls like compressors or valves/manifold's it will be a much easier warranty claim to take care of! and if they stock parts locally, if you blow something itll be guaranteed they will have replacement parts (in saying this... i havnt blown anything and i drive my bagged passat daily!) and it will be relatively cheaper to buy the management kits here because of the missing shipping costs! tanks and compressors take up wasted money and weight shipping them over...

local lowrider and minitruck shops around OZ will sell nothing but quality management kits, because after all! they all come from america! you just skip the individual import costs!

here is a pic of my bomber with the bag off it, bagyard dont just make base plates and put a bag between it and pray for handling!, they actually re gas them to accommodate the replacement bag and balance them to each individual model vw, they are bilstein sports with adjustable dampening, so race spec's can be achievable

this is true, they didnt sell polo's but as jarred said! its an austrian company and polo's are a plenty over there! ill have the answer before the sun rise

bahhh!! as long as you bring the mk3 down for SEDF i dont care if you roll static mate! just bring it down!!!

ive done alot of research on engineering bags, basically add another $1700 for the management kit plus $500 for eng cert. ontop of the strut price, that will include the digital auto level system which will be legal and ready to engineer, provided the installer knows what hes doing of course, this will involve "accessory" on start up, this will raise the car over 100mm automatically, and its locked like that untill the motor is off or its in park or neuteral, then you can play with what ever you want its not my style... too booring all that digital stuff but its alot easier on the mind

haha im not even after a set in this group buy! i just want more dubs to be "scene" ahahhahaha
most people go for either 4 valve system (front back) or opt for the 8 valve system (front/back/side/side)
those setups can vary from $500 to $1000+ depending on the tank size, how many compressors and valves or manifolds, it might seem hard but usually the simplest answer is the correct one, for small cars like ours, a 4 valve system will work perfect!, 1 5gallon tank, and 1 compressor will kick awesome and wont kill the battery! plus it looks and fits MUUUCH cleaner in the boot or spare wheel well

hahahah NICE! what do you think i did! traded the best original mk1 golf in OZ for a banged up b3 passat! and bagged that badboy!!!

i hope this answers everything, but if it doesnt please ask more..... i know alot of people are not quite educated but also curious so ask away!!!

i have the permission from bagyard and open road tuning to handle warranty claims on the bags which saves ALOT of money and time, the mission for me here is to bring the so called "expensive pleasures" home for all of us to have a taste! so im going to be 100% dedicated to this service

the bags will be under $2000 if your after a basic 4 valve management system (front/back) which will be perfect for everyone application... from a guesstimate itll be around the $700 mark retail.... i have to have a chat with one of my lowrider connections to work out a group buy on a basic front back management system locally so ill update everyone on that tomorrow

anyone who wants custom management stuff like twin compressors and extra tanks, valves, i can organize that too

              cheers

I think this is pretty sweet that you could bag a Mk3 golf for around $3000.

diagram is for an 8way (adjust each bag individually), 4 way is the same except two bags run off the same dump and fill valves (adjust bags in pairs, front up/down, rear up/down)
