Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW H&R Lowering Springs 30-35mm

    Hi Everyone,

Just last week I received a brand new set of H&R Springs along with my Bilsteins Shocks for my VW Polo GTI. Due to the nature of my setup, I'm now opting for a different height adjustment as I believe 35mm will be too low for the profile tyre I wish to run. As a result, am looking at alternatives and my loss is your gain as you won't have to worry about international shipping costs.

It's brand new in the box and you will receive:
    1 x H&R Springs - GTI Edition (30-35mm) - Part No: 29333-3

You can ask any questions you wish, and I shall have pictures up for you later in the week.

    Price: $350.00 pickup or shipped.

    Cheers

Pog, sent you a PM asking where you sourced the H&R's from.

      Thanks

just out of curiosity, what is the profile you wish to run? and what are the wheels specs?

I had 35mm H&R's with a 40 profile tyre (not that profile should make any difference to how low your car is )..... and my wheels were 7.5 inches wide at the front with a 20+ offset, and the rears were 8 inches wide at the rear with a 25+ offset. no scrubbing, not even close.

Dave (forget his username) has imported these previously, not sure if he is still doing this as there is not much in it...

                  I wish to run a 45 profile.

                  Wheel specs are:
                  17 x 8" / +35 offset/ 5 x 100

35mm on a 40 profile is not a problem. I'm running a 45 profile due to track tyre availability. With a 215/40/17 there is hardly any and quite expensive.

                      geez a 45 profile on 17's!!
a.) it'll look like a tractor. b.) you're speedo will be way off. c.) you're accellaration will be absolutely rubbish due to the increased rolling diameter. hope you have pleeeenty of power to help you out.

                        a. Haha, come on!
                        b. Speedometer Difference: 3.538% too slow (or 3.5km/h)
                        c. A 45 profile isn't going to be night and day.

I'll let you know all know how it looks anyway.
