ACT PRICE CHECK RCD510 virtually brand new

Hey all

I bought a Tiguan 147 TSI at the end of May 09 that came with the RCD510.

I have just upgraded to the RNS510, so have virtually a brand new RD510 that I am considering selling.
Dealer claims RRP is $2760?!?!!?!!
I've seen some threads in here with people sourcing them via ebay overseas, and some locally... seems $1000 is somewhere in the range? What do people think?

My unit is virtually brand new. Although I have had my Tiguan for just over 3 months, I travel a lot with my job and spend more than 50% away from home.

Was wondering what people thought would be a fair / good price to get for this RCD510?

Presumably an installer, considering the number of sales by this seller and it being advertised as a brand new unit.

I noticed there are not many of the RCD units selling on eBay au, so another guide may be recent 'new' RNS510 sales on eBay or forums; for similar money you're mentioning for the RCD510.

Obviously, the real cost of the RNS units could be higher considering postage/customs/local map costs but in the meantime, you can quickly gauge a basic RNS-510 market price based on the recent results in the link, then price the RCD competitively to these prices (perhaps).

some well over 1000 - but they seem rare.

Has this unit sold already? I have just bought a golf tsi and am thinking about upgrading to the dynaudio.......
Is there a lot involved in changeover, and can I trust my dealer to install it without stuffing up my dash?

I haven't sold it...
as I've been travelling with work pretty much solidly since I posted this price check thread.

It is the RCD510 head unit - not speakers... and not sure what the DynAudio pack includes beyond their better speakers... or if the head unit is different or whether they add other components... or whether you can even get the DynAudio as a non factory fit.

You crack me up. So much thought and negotiation went into getting a decent price for the car and now you want to change what you could have had negotiated into the package?

DJY, going price on Ebay on the RCD510 is from $400-$500 at the moment.

1 sold for $360 recently on Ebay and I got mine for well under $500 from a dealer ..... (brand new)

even Umaai has a few for sale @ $500 on this forum and they were not selling quickly either ....

Unfortunately the market is what sets the price not the seller's wants ....

some people get upset when you remind them that their prices are unrealistic, so no offence intended ... merely a forum feedback service ...

I don't have any fixed price necessarily... but on the other hand am keen to get what is fair and reasonable for it... helps off set my upgrade price plus the money I know I'm about to spend in Syd for the next three days?!?!?!

Will do some research myself next week and put it on the market.
