So allow 21% plus $100 on top of your delivered cost to Oz.

For example, assume the goods are US$900 plus US$100 for delivery.

    landed cost is US$1,000 @ exch rate of (currently) 0.84 = AU$1,190

    then add 10% import duty = AU$1,309
    then add 10% GST = AU$1,440

then add another $100 for clearance = AU$1450.

Alternatively, if you get say 2 parcels (to 2 different addresses!):

    US$450, plus say US$80 delivery = US$530 @ 0.84 = A$631

    x two parcels = $1,262 or a savings of $188.

As Jim for a quote for 1 parcel, and for 2 parcels delivered to 2 different locations and do the comparison
He refused to send in 2 packages.

But I think he might of had a bad day or soemthing. He later sent an email saying it would cost significantly more to send in 2 packages, and asked for a mailing address for a quote to show me. But I have a feeling it would come under cost anyway.

ATM it will be $175USD x 7 units. He told me he doesn't declare postage.

SO Total Item/s Value in AUD is $1458.
Import and GST will be $306AUD
Add $100 Scam fee. And it will total $406AUD.

And if we were to split that into 7, that is $58AUD each that each person has to fork out. So that works out to be $286AUD per person.

That actually works out MORE EXPENSIVE than if we were to buy individually at normal price and get them shipped to us individually.

    This is BULL SH!*!
    I am furious.

yeah, majority of orders are in Sydney though.
with only one from Mel and Another from Bne.

Not sure if we would be entitled to discounts still.

but we will all still save on postage, no doubt.

Might do that if he doesn't agree to do so.

He was being a prick about it before.
Then he sent that other email, asking for address to show me the quote for cost of second pacakge because he probably felt uncomfortable about restricting us to one package only.

        Thanks for all your help.

        Much appreciated.

        Justin

            NO NO.

            Don't give up.

Its not too hard. I am breaking his balls to try and keep costs down. I am trying to make it MORE worthwhile for everyone involved.

He also told me that this new batch of SS's are more refined and updated.

I got my Forge Short shift kit (FMVWQS+FMVWSQS) from a site sponsor on GolfMKV:

                ian.cudmore AT rennenhaus.com.au.

Why don't you do yourselves a favor and order through him. Great service and excellent prices.

Ian is a great bloke and if this all falls through I will consider it - however I have seen the dieselgeek shifter and 'personally' I rate it over the Forge unit.

(oh and Ian is competing in the new fangled dutton rally currently - follow him on twitter twitter.com/rennenhaus )

If EVERYONE is happy with the forge then we can investigate it.
It is just that the dieselgeek is recommended by a few specialists. And it does offer a few advatages.

However, if Jim from dieselgeek proves to be too difficult, then we will continue our search elsewhere.
He always replies to emails late at night (time difference). So I will have to stay up again tonight.

Don't give up guys. I am anxious for this as well!

                      Cheers,

                      Justin

I don't know how much those FOrge units will be to ship over. but I wouldn't be surprised if they do work out a bit cheaper than the DG.

DG only come as one complete unit with side and throw reduction.
For all six speed VW Group cars, we are excited to offer you the best shifter we could possibly make, the new Sigma Shifter. The major difference between our Sigma Short Shift Kit and the competition is that our shifter uses all aluminum cable ends with race-proven hardened steel spherical pivot bearings while all other shifters use factory Audi/VW plastic and rubber cable ends which were optimized for economically assembling a car at the factory. Since the OEM cable ends have rubber damping parts and large tolerances, the shifter feel of all other shifters is nowhere near as solid and as precise as our finest work, The Sigma Shifter. With the addition of our Sigma Shifter, your car’s shift mechanism will no longer feel like a cable-operated shifter but more like a solid lever shifter from a high-performance rear wheel drive car. We designed the Sigma’s aluminum Billetshift cable ends in the pursuit of shifting excellence and we succeeded! Getting the rubber out of the linkage has an unexpected and profound effect on shifter feel. The shifter becomes light yet very positive, giving the shifter an expensive feel that no other shifter can match.

The other difference between the Dieselgeek Sigma shifter and the competition is that our shifter is equipped with the new Dieselgeek Slider (see picture above). The Dieselgeek Slider mates the front to back lever with the side to side lever and controls left to right gate selection. Since we have redesigned the side to side lever from the ground up, the white plastic sliding piece was also redesigned at the same time from a very precise and long-lasting structural plastic material guaranteed to last as long as your car. The cheaper factory white plastic sliding piece found on all other short shift kits have large tolerances built in and is made of a plastic that will deteriorate over time and with heavy use. This makes all other shifters less precise as time progresses. We have eliminated shifter degradation permanently with the Dieselgeek Slider. The performance difference of our Dieselgeek Slider can be felt on the very first second-to-third gear shift you make. You’ll love it!

That's fair enough, theres a bit of marketing jargon in there, but sounds like they would be alright! They will all be very similar IMO.

yeah, i know what you mean. But with more metal construction and parts, it gives me a piece of mind.

plus its not too much more, so it isn't too bad...

                              GOOD NEWS Guys!!

He is willing to ship to 2 addresses!

shipping works out significantly more, but we save a load of money avoiding rip off tax.

postage is around $70USD for each package. and obviously multiply that by 2.

the 2 guys from interstate will have to chip in another $10-20AUD for me to ship to you guys.

so roughly we are currently looking at $195USD including postage per person.

at an exchange rate of 0.81 - that works out to be:

                              about $240AUD INCLUDING delivery.

                              better than ~$230USD including delivery.

Jim said he will have stock ready to ship on wednesday.

He asked me to get things rolling. So can those 6 people have their money ready please.

PM me and you can grab my details, etc.
