Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Got an almost new set of Conti SportContact 6 245/35/19 tyres I bought from Bob Jane 10 days ago for $1,480. Continental SportContact(R) 6 (R02) 245/35R19 93Y | 245/35R19 Tyres for sale

Short story is I used to run 245's on my old car with 19x8.5 rims with no problem. New car came with after market 19x8.5 rims so I thought id be ok but the wheels don't have enough backspace to run the 245's without rubbing.

I'm temporarily running 5mm spacers but after having an insurance problem a few years ago I'm not keen to keep this setup.

Cars done about 350km since fitting. As new. Looking for $950 Ono.

What car did you try to run these on? That would help people make a decision on fitment.

        Hmmm my post disappeared weird.

        Mk7.5 wagon. Previously had a mk7 hatch (both R's).

Don't think itsthe car (though could be) but rather the rim / tyre combo. My mtm wheels worked. These momo ones didn't.

        A thread on 245's on golf's:
