That appears to have been a 1100L late 70s MK1 2 door, with lots of bits added to it. Be a great project for somebody but not worth lots of $$$ given its non GTI heritage.

Though it was originally Australian Compliance 76/77. Some interesting history through different owners

BBS Body kit added by new owner. Painted dark Green with Gold Wheels
New owner painted guards red Complete UK 1600/5spd GTI donor mechanicals added
I drove for about 20 years and added the 2l engine from Brian GTI Imports

I am chasing 5K because of the rarity of 2dr body and GTI mechanicals in Australia. Plus some good bits added.
