For Sale 1988 Mk2 GTI Executive Edition (5 door)

So many years ago, and like many, I had this dream of getting this car done up.
Purchased it from a gentleman called Beau who at the time was with Camden GTI.
Whilst it had a very ordinary paint job and interior, Beau had the 16V revving HARD!
I was offered $8k for it at the time from someone on here a few days after buying it.
Then enter Jmac who tweaked it even more
- tweaked the Kjet (Jmac is the kjet doctor)
- KW sports suspension 40mm drop
- full Jetex stainless exhaust
- new brakes and wheel bearings all around
- cam and timing belts
- fuel pump and accumulator
Threw it on the dyno and it pretty much produced the factory spec power after all these years!!! I'll have to dig up the report somewhere in my files.
Then enter having two young kids... and your priorities change. Whilst I would love to finish this mini project off, I simply don't have the time.
So, it's time to let this one go to a good home and finish what I started. If you want it 100% it would need a full paint job (couple of rust spots), new interior and seats, new door handles, the speedo jitters to about 40kmph, and the fuel indicator is not working (I have spare fuel float ready to install), and I never got the chance to repair the front right fender which needs panelbeater.
The a/c was removed by the previous owner.
I will also come with the following which I purchased for it
- 14" original snowflake rims (all straight but needs a refurb or repaint)
- new GTI badges for front and rear
- new original 16V keys
Rego is current for 6 mths.
I will sell it in a where is, as is condition. It's time for me to move on...
