After much thought ive decided to sell my VW Gold Mk1.
The car was originally bought about 8 months ago from a fellow VWW member. It had been sitting for years but fired right up when started. Has 7 months rego.
The car has a 1.8L JH code engine. All fluids were changed about 6 months ago and im doing a oil + filter change in the coming weeks. The previous owner also mentioned that it had a rare solid-lifter head, fully balanced bottom end. Bigger cam.
- 020 5 speed gearbox
- 45 DCOE side-draught weber.
- New twin muffler exhaust system, about 3 months old.
- Koni yellow front shocks, spax springs , cofap rear shocks.
- Gti sway bars front and rear
- Gti front calipers and discs, pads and discs were changed about 6 months ago.
- Tyres are also about 90%
Body is in ok condition. Most the visible rust was cut out, repaired and re sprayed. Ive included a picture of the rust on the front quarter.
Interior is in good condition. I think the dash is off a cabrio. Doesn't have any cracks but is missing the lower knee pad.
The following needs attention:
The car is currently running really rich, still drives fine but could do with a tune.
Rear brake shoes need changing, ive had a look under the drums and they can no longer be adjusted so they need new shoes. As a result the pedal feel isn't all that great but it still stops fine.
It is sometimes hard to get into 5th gear, the linkages may need adjusting.
