The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. Hey guys,

Had my car on carsales, haven't been getting much interest... Honestly don't know why... I've dropped the price from $16,000 about ~6 months ago, it's now sitting at $11K with still no interest.. Probably won't sell car with both RWC/BBS wheels at that price, will have to negotiate.

    2007 Volkswagen Polo 9N GTI MY2008

    Any questions, please ask.

It's a pretty crap ad. Sounds like you are trying to sell a tune. Have a look at the other ads for Polos and ask yourself if your ad would get Joe Average to make a phone call.

Interior & stereo photo are rubbish too.

Shame, because the car looks pretty good

Having owned and sold a 9N3 GTI, I'd do the following if I were you:

      1. remove the wheels and refit the original GTI wheels (sorry but those white ones are terrible IMO).
      2. remove the radio and gauge refit the orignal radio.
      3. Take some better interior and exterior pictures
      4. reduce mention of the tune and other performance upgrades.

Cars are a personal choice to buyers (especially older performance cars such as this) and a more stock looking 1 will attract more interest as not everybody has the same taste in mods. What you like are obviously not liked by the potential buyers out there.

Apologies for being blunt ..... but if I was looking to buy a 9N3 GTI, i'd skip straight past to the next "more stock looking" one .... and BTW the 1 I sold was full stage 2 APR as well.

Also helps to remove the dribble on lack of performance from stock, exhaust noise.

Need better photos and the empty round slots next to the gauges. Looks unfinished.

Very honest replies guys. The seller will do well to do what you have suggested.

Yeh alright. I like the wheels, I got them because they weighed significant amount less than the stock, ah well. I guess you make a good point about things being personal choice, you don't like the wheels and I do is a great example Happy with the honest replies though, seriously.

Changed the wording up a bit, will try get the car on standard wheels, and change the photos. Maybe lower the price or something as well. Unsure about sourcing and fitting a stock radio, the headset has bluetooth, and majority of standards don't?

Should I get a RWC and take a photo of that or something?

              I would leave it simple

              Odometer reading
              Rego left
              Tyre life?
              Car body condition if good/immaculate.
Maybe leave out the frequent oil changes as just sounds like DIY job which nothing wrong with but might put some people off.
Maybe mention fuel economy in km per tank.

Ditch the tacho and just put a slot in its place.
Also get rid off the first paragraph and add the headunit BT/Aux with the other mods.

No point attacking other cars so remove the reference in the timing belt change.

              RWC does help

It really doesn't matter if you like the wheels or not. If you want to appeal to the biggest audience then you have to be boring.

                from this:
The polo GTI is a very safe car, with EBD/ABS and brake assist, Traction Control, and 6 airbags in total, 5-9L/100KM! rivalling most current small cars. Electric windows, Air Conditioning, and this is a two-way sunroof model! Also has unexpected goodies, like mirror indicators and illuminated vanity mirrors in driver's and passenger's visors. Car has head unit with bluetooth! and aux! (Standard polo GTI radio doesn't have bluetooth!)

Got receipt for timing belt service (~$1000) carried out <7500kms ago, won't need to be carried out for another 120,000 kilometres. Receipts for servicing. Have original owner's books, & 2 keys. You will be purchasing a very strong, well known Audi 1.8T, and one of the main reasons apart from safety as to why I bought the car.

                Additional Features:
APR Tune, diverter and dogbone mount.
Seat Intake Pipe, as well as 2.5" Remus Catback Exhaust.
                Eibach springs.
Slotted Rotors for extra stopping power.

Would keep the car, regretful sale. But buying apartment with no garage space!
To this (just change the bits where I'm wrong). You have to spell it out as not everyone knows a lot about the car they are buying:

                MY2008 Polo GTI.
4 cylinder 1.8T with manual gearbox.
The vehicle has only done 90,000km and the overall presentation and driving experience reflects this low mileage.

Engine runs beautifully and has been professionally tuned for optimum economy (uses less than 6L fuel per 100km on a trip) and also drives really well.
The engine has had the major timing belt replacement and service recently carried out and is not due for another 120,000km.
Servicing and maintenance has been carried out in accordance with the Volkswagen recomendations and generally done earlier than required. (all receipts available for inspection).
Both Owners Handbook & Service Record book are included as is 2 sets of keys.
The 5 speed gearbox changes gear very smoothly & clutch is progressive & easy to use.
The brakes stop the vehicle straight and don't pull or grab. They have been recently checked and the disc rotors updated with high quality replacements.
The safety features of the vehicle include Anti-lock Brakes, Electronic Brake Distribution and Braking Assistance for maximum braking power when needed.
The vehicle also has Traction Control for safety when cornering. The vehicle handles very nicely and corners smoothly.

The "Flash Red" paint is in above average condition. The vehicle has been washed and cared for regularly & parked undercover.
The interior is spotless and unmarked and features:
                • 6 airbags
                • 2-way Electric Sunroof,
                • Automatic Electric Windows,
                • Remote Central Locking
                • Air Conditioning (icy cold).

The vehicle's Sound System (CD, AM/FM radio, etc) has been updated and has Bluetooth to connect to your mobile phone and an AUX-IN connector for portable music devices.

The tyres have good tread remaining and won't need replacement for quite a while. They are fitted to high quality alloy wheels.

There is 4 months registration & a Roadworthy Certificate can be supplied on request.

Overall, the vehicle has been very reliable and enjoyable during my period of ownership and the driving experience is very satisfying. I would love to keep the car but am buying an apartment with no garage space and need a cheap run-about to park on the street.

I would like to sell this vehicle before moving into my new apartment & therefore am able to negotiate a mutually agreeable price

Then when they come & look at the car and ask about stuff you explain what you have done & what premium extras you've fitted & why. If they don't ask then don't volunteer the info. I've seen owners talk the buyers out of a sale becuase they won't shut-up.

If they say the engine seems better than the others then say "Yes, I've had it professionally tuned by APR tuning. They have tuned thousands of these engines. They get really good economy afterwards and one of the happy extras is the car goes a bit better." Then maybe explain the tune can be turned off or put in valet mode. If they ask about the noisy exhaust then tell them it was part of the tune. Don't bother mentioning the Seat intake, diverter or dogbone unless they are cracking a boner over the tune.

change the price to $11370 or $11670. Gives you room to come down & makes the price stand out a bit.
