1999 MK4 Golf 1.6 Manual with low kms for sale
The Golf comes with a RWC and 3 months rego in QLD if sold at the asking price. Its replacement will be here shortly, its an honest even if previously neglected car.
The Good
1999 MK4 Golf 1.6 Manual (known as “Shrek”)
134,xxx kms, low for its age
Metallic Green with beige interior
All electrics work (including central locking, electric windows and air conditioning)
In the last 9 months the following has been replaced with new parts:
• Tappet cover gasket replaced by German Auto in Geebung (Mar 14)
• Breather pipe replaced by German Auto in Geebung (Mar 14)
• Gear linkages replaced by German Auto in Geebung (Mar 14)
• New battery fitted 20/2/2014
• Front bar spoiler fitted (Jan 14)
• New twin radiator fans fitted (Jan 14).
• Rear brake pads (Dec 13)
• New clutch fitted by JMAC (Oct 13)
• Front brakes (discs and pads) (Jun 13)
• Front wheel bearings (Jun 13)
• Front shocks
• Front Bump stops
• Front strut bearings
• Rear shocks
• Dipstick tube
• Both front wiper blades replaced
• Accessory drive belt replaced
• Gearbox was flushed and filled with Redline MT90 gearbox oil by JMAC
• Head lining replaced
• Thermostat flange replaced (fixed a common water leak on the MK4s)
• Ignition key barrel and Ignition switch replaced
• 2nd Hand Fuel Pump fitted
About 18 months ago the following was replaced
• Timing belt
• Water pump
A new Sony CD player has been fitted about 12 months ago
Windscreen was replaced in December 2012
The gearbox has been reconditioned about 2 years ago
4 x 14” OEM MK4 Alloys with tyres that have done 20,000km.
All body panels are straight and the car appears accident free
The Spares
I have accumulated a number of spares that will go with the car:
• 2nd hand Brake booster and master cylinder
• 2nd hand Injector rail with 4 x injectors
• 2 x used front ABS sensors
• Used ignition switch (from this very car itself)
• Rear Hatch including interior hatch trim.
• Interior carpet (black) in good condition
• 4 x 16” OEM VW Bora Alloys with 2 OK tyres and 2 worn tyres

The Bad
The paint is in average to poor condition with the clear coat peeling in a few areas. (The body though is straight and good)
The interior trim (door cards only, no tears in seats) still need some attention.
Seats need a dry clean
The 14” tyres are noisy.
The Ugly
I’m chasing $2500 for the car in a good mechanical condition. I have spent at least $4000 during the last 9 months to get it to where it is now.
