Vacuum bagging starter kit for making composite enclosures?
I started a new carbon fiber enclosure over the weekend. It's moulded to the 20" spare wheel (migrating my sub to the new car). The tub (bottom half) is thin, rigid, light as a feather and holds ~37L of water already. I still have to build the raised lid, which will sit ~25mm above the top of the...Last edited by nermal; 24-05-2022, 03:53 PM.

Vacuum pump woes
Putting this here because it becomes an issue as the kms rise so I guess "future restorers" and those with engines of unclear provenance might get the most use from it. Hopefully turns up in searches easily enough.
If you have a LuK vacuum pump P/n 06D145100- be very careful...

Suction Jet Pump
Ive been around my engine bay for a point where I can get a low vacuum.
On the air box is a nipple which would be ideal but the pipe goes to the "suction Jet pump" which is part of the brake booster vacuum circuit.
What on earth does it do? it looks like a venturi...

Vacuum leak help
My wife's 2.0 litre FSI non-turbo Golf V suddenly has a very bad idle which is giving an error message of 008825-leak in air intake system P2279-008-MIL ON, plus 000768-random/multiple cylinder misfire detected and 000769-cylinder 1 misfire.
I've done a search for these error codes and...

Broken something...
Long story short, my polo had a coil pack fail (replaced) and the dipstick guide shatter (replacement in the mail). I have removed bumper and radiator to make a clean swap of the dipstick guide.
The vacuum resiviour brackets was too low to accommodate the taller new coil packs. So after...Last edited by Arokys; 10-02-2020, 06:49 PM.

Crank case vacuum - Non Turbo FSI
Just been contemplating crankcase ventilation and how it works in the non turbo FSI engines.
As far as I can determine the crankcase is kept under a constant vacuum by the operation of the PCV valve in the rocker cover.
Does anyone have any idea what the amount of vacuum...

Hard brake pedal at low speeds after vacuum pump overhaul
I have a 2009 2.0 TSI and replaced the seals on my vaccum pump today because there was a bad oil leak. The job was pretty straightforward and the seal kit included 3 o-rings and the gasket between the pump and the head. Everything seemed to be fine until I pulled up to park and after pushing the brake...

Boost gauge vacuum line routing
Hi all,
I've seen many gauges about installing a boost gauge in a Polo 9n3 GTI, however a lot of the guides show the vacuum pipe being routed through the grommet on the passenger side of the car, and then under the dash to the drivers side.
Is there a place that the vacuum...Last edited by RamJam258; 28-12-2016, 02:19 AM.
