I have a 2020 Tiguan R-Line that came with stock 255/40R20 tyres. Does anyone know if you can put on snow chains to these?
I asked VW Australia who responded, “We sought assistance with our technical team, and they said that only tyres size 215/65R17 are allowed with snow chains”.

Snow Screen Removed
So after reading some stuff on the polo GTI 6c facebook group I found out that our 6Cs are fitted with a snow screen in the airbox which is pretty restrictive, so i took 5 mins to check and then remove mine a few weeks ago. Photos attached to show you what it is, and how restrictive to airflow it appears....

R36 Underbody Protection Panels options?
During a recent trip to the snowfields, snow entered under the side panel behind the engine and filled to so much that it tore off it's mounting bolts. I think this may have been as a result if the engine under-tray panel being damaged by a stick previously which allowed the ingress of the snow....Last edited by profrat; 24-08-2017, 07:29 PM.

No going to the snow in a 162TSI :(
I'm posting this in the hope that one of you guys has a solution for this. Or at the very least, I'd like to warn others or save them some time...
There are no diamond-pattern snow chains currently available that will fit the 162TSI with its 18x7 wheels and 235/55 R18 tyres.

Yeti 4x4 not legal in the snow fields in winter!?
It has come to my attention, after having purchased snow chains, that I cannot legally access the snow fields during winter without modifying my Yeti.
It won't accept chains fitted to the standard front wheels ONLY THE REAR!
AS PER THE MANUAL!
How would you know prior to purchase?....

Will 16" or 17" wheels clear the brakes on the R36?
I scuffed the standard alloy wheels a little with snow chains last week and i'm not too keen to use them again.
One alternative is to fit smaller, narrower, steel wheels with snow tyres so I can fit chains if needed more easily as well.
But it occurred to me that 16" or...
