i have the exact issue i have cleaned/ removed the MAF sensor .. it has solved the issue of the engine flooding but its still sluggish and lurches .. for it to change out of first gear it redlines .. when i lay my foot off the accelerator it shifts finally and lurches sometimes violently...

Any ideas why it's running so badly?

It stutters and has no power. We've cleaned the air-flow metre and changed both spark plugs and leads.
