Proud CAVD Owner
While I was living in the UK back in 2011, my work lent me a 2010 VW CAVD 118. I totally enjoyed every minute. At high speeds over 150km/h (hey, I was living in Europe), it was absolutely smooth with superb handling. After coming back to Aus (VIC), I wanted to buy one badly but due to bad...

Newbie Corner
Recently purchased a 2011 Golf MK6 118kw 1.4l TSI! Got it pretty cheap because of a misfire on the 3rd cylinder. Did a compression test and it came out bad so I am tearing apart the engine to replace the pistons myself. I am in need of some sort of manuals so I can see what needs to come off and what...

$8000 to repair engine at 100,000km. VW won't help.
Hi everyone,
Back at the end of 2013, I bought a 90TSI Comfortline Golf VII. Between my 90,000km and 105,000km service, the car started using a very significant amount of oil (may have started increasing earlier, but that was the first time I had to put more than a litre in between services)....

118TSI Forged Piston Engine Rebuild
Some already know that my car suffered the dreaded 118TSI death. After 3 months with the car I was loving it. It had 65000km's on the clock and is a late 2011 built model (MY12). When I bought the car I was confident that being a later model I would have no issues with misfiring or cracked pistons....

A4 B8 1.8 TFSI Engine Rebuild Time - Excessive Oil Consumption
I have a 2009 A4 1.8 with CVT that is now using 1.4 litres of oil per 1000km (as measured by Audi) at 85,000km. So its now three years out of warranty and suffered a major (actually progressive) failure of the piston rings. I know this is a common problem with 2.0TFSI engines.
Tomorrow...

VW Golf 1 GTI 1.6 Ltr. 8V - $549.00 : Wossner Forged Pistons, Wossner Forged Pistons

VW Golf 118TSI
Hi, I have a Golf 118TSi which I bought new in 2009 and have had lots of repairs and trouble with it. I have contacted VW Australia directly about but they don't seem to be interested. All repairs continue to be under warranty (spends more time in the dealer than on the road) but mechanical warranty...
