Afternoon peoples new to the site currently playing with a mk4 gti golf

Hi all

I am looking at a very low km Passat Alltrack (55,000) that is a 2013 model
Based on the VW swrvice interval guide it is due a timing belt change next year, 2020.
What are peoples thoughts on this as it will be literally at half the kms?
Is it a case of just...

- what a great little car. I am interested to hear about other peoples' experiences with DIY.

My Superb is currently running 235/40R19 tyres. I've seen some discussion about some people moving up in width, to something like a 245/40R19 instead. Is that a doable thing? The price for the tyres seems a lot better(and the range is bigger too) for the 245's. What are peoples thoughts?
