Is there any major differences, primarily regarding the drivetrain between this model and the newer ones?

I understand there are interior differences, but this is not my biggest concern....

Looking for a cat-back exhaust from a Mk 7 Golf R, to go onto a 2019 132tsi Tiguan. Needs to be a Mk7 as the newer 7.5 is slightly wider and won't fit.

Has anyone done a direct comparison between the standard non ACC suspension and the 3 settings on the newer Highlines? Our 2017 non ACC Highline rode a lot firmer than expected and both the Passat and golf Alltrack hire cars I tried handled speed bumps and potholes in a more composed manner. I'm wondering...
