looking for an early 90's Mk2 GTI to scratch a mid-life crisis itch. Want to restore to stock condition and do some warming up under the bonnet, so ideally a presentable example in and out is ideal. Mechanically welcome a few challenges.

Anyway the fire is back....I am looking to buy an early GTI Mk1 or 2 in 2 door. GTI or GLI 1800 cabrios also very interested.... willing to travel

From UK originally and stupidly didn't import a mk2 when I came here 6yrs ago. Been searching the net and its led me here hoping I'll find a good one for sale

I think my ignition switch is starting to play up. Sometimes it take a few turns of the key to start and I've noticed that if I turn the key and then turn it back just a bit it fires up. It also seems to stall when I go to break and that can be a bit scary. This happens randomly but...
