I know this has been covered before. I had a squeeling blower fan, so pulled it out from under the dash and spun the fan and sure enough it was a dry shaft. Applied some lithium grease on to the shaft inside the fan blade and is dead quiet again. I did not go to the extend of drilling...

Any recommendation to fix a Squeaky door hinge?

Mine is a 3 door, so the hinges are under more stress than the regular 5 door Golfs.

Had a front wheel off late this afternoon & noticed all this grease had been dumped out of seemingly the other side of the CV joint... ! The boot itself seems ok & is intact & relatively grease-free, but feeling around the other side, my fingers got a nice coating of grease as well......
