Hey Folks. I bought a T4 camper for my daughter as my first initiation into the world of VWs. Have already replaced some electrics, engine mounts, gearstick bushes, various hoses. Looks like I have a head gasket to work on next!

So, one night coming home after a longish drive, I pulled into the drive way, went to put it in 1st, and the gear shifter lost all footing it once had.

I could shake it around like a sack of bones, it shifts into 4th and 3rd gear but nothing else, I can't get it into reverse either, it...

Wondering if anyone has any ideas as to what could be causing the gearstick in my 1996 T4 to vibrate noisily.
I tried to upload a short video but had no success!



It started a few weeks ago and only happens in 1st, 3rd and 5th gears when the engine is under load....

I bought this last night off Hayden and drove it home from Newcastle (500ks). Great drive, so much fun and I couldn't believe how quick I got home.
