My bearing is shot. I finally found a replacement on eBay from Febest in Victoria. Received it promptly and gave it to my mechanic to fit - but it’s too wide/thick to allow the retaining circlip to go on. My old one is 15mm wide, this one is around 22mm.

Our MkV TDI 125KW Golf is has started making a weird noise.

Only hear the noise in motion - you can hear it come in from approx 50km/hr through to about 90km/hr (I suspect it is still there beyond that but wind noise is probably covering it).

So i replaced my clutch with an ECS Stage 1 kit this weekend. While installing the new thrust bearing into the clutch fork the plastic clip broke off the back of the bearing (fail), so in a panic i just put the old thrust bearing back in. It had all the same dimensions and was in good condition....
