I have a 2005 Golf MkV 2.0 TDI manual, knowing that 507.00 oil is recommended. However I red somewhere also saying for better protection, 5w-40 oil (which is Not 507.00) can be used, i.e. Penrite Enviro+ 5w40 - 505.01. Can you tell which one will be more suitable for my car?...

Does anyone still change the oil out in after the first 1000km on a new engine anymore?
From what i gather, VW doesn't run mineral break-in oil, just 507.00 oil. (i may be wrong on this)
Wouldn't it make sense to drop the oil at 1000km,... -
