Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Is a discussion meant to follow?
All I have to say is that it's sad that that many Hyundais and Kias are being produced. That many suckers who obviously can't even be bothered to buy something bland, reliable and uninspired like a Toyota and vote with their instantaneous wallets and go the cheap and nasty route. To add to that how many of those GMs were Daewoos as well.

People are idiots. Seriously. You'd be surprised how bleeding naive some people are when it comes to cars. They buy good quality shoes because you get what you pay for and then go and buy a ****ty kia or hyundai because they think there is no point spending the extra money on a more expensive car.

Hyundai's and Kias are not as bad cars are people make them out to be. They may be 1/2 the cost of a VW but nowhere near 1/2 the car. Where else can you buy a reliable (you may hate to admit it but you know its true) which is reasonably safe with an acceptable level of spec for 15-16k drive away?

Just in the same way that you may think someone is wrong in buying a boring car like a Getz, I can just imagine the way the Getz customer would feel towards your eccentric, low and in their opinion uneconomical R32.
There is no right or wrong, just a matter of perspective. Only in really extreme circumstances such as when a customer buys a lemon are they truly wrong in their choice of vehicle.

You've never worked on one of those cars or watched how quickly they deteriorate. They're crap dude. Everything on them is poorly designed, made and put together.
