Volkswagen Group is to be split into 4 group with VW, Skoda and Seat grouped into one.

I thought that VW had already gotten quite successful in maximising efficiencies through shared component and parts bins and heavily standardised size/fittings of interior structures.

I also didn't think that the companies were competing against each other - they all seem to be in their own pricing and market brackets.
