Volkswagen manufacturing quirks revealed !!!!

    Volkswagen manufacturing quirks revealed !!!!

    Ok I am a VW geek

    I have deciphered the following using VIN numbers.

    All Mk6 Golf (hatch) 77/90/118 TSI's are manufactured in Mosel, Germany.

    All Mk6 Golf (hatch) BlueMotion/77/103 TDI's, GTI's Edition 35/Pirelli & R are manufactured in Wolfsburg Germany.

    All Passat Wagon's, R36 (sedans & wagons)'s & CC's are manufactured in Emden, Germany.

    All Passat Sedans's are manufactured in Mosel, Germany.

    Not hard to find out if you use Google Polo's are made in South Africa

      Anybody can edit the information in Wikipedia, so it doesn't have to be always 100% correct.

        Is for both my cars as per the Vin number

        Several other references in Google I just picked the first one

        Is this one better

          Sorry to disappoint you but there are 118 TSI's with the Assembly Plant character (11th) in the Vin No. as P - Mosel and also W - Wolfsburg.

          Don't know about the other models, only checked the 118 TSI's.

          Growing old is compulsory, growing up is optional !

              Yep, my 118tsi is manufactured in Wolfsburg.

                I wonder if its a Model Year thing???

                All TSI in the 2012/13MY I have come across so far are Mosel built.

                  Sorry on that one too...my MY11 118TSi is built in Mosel.


                  Lets agree that they are all built in Germany!

                    Redbook.com.au is actually a good source for Country of Origin info.

                    Normal Polo's are made in South Africa
                    GTI is made in Pamplona, Spain

                    and try getting a VW Dealer to admit the fact that the current and previous Jetta's are built in Mexico
