    I don't know why Victorians resist the move to annual roadworthy checks when registration is renewed.

    It's a bit like the way they resisted the right turn rules. I worked for the NSW DMT and believe it or not, they had to be dragged kicking and screaming to come in line with all the other states and countries, but only if the other states in Australia agreed to go from continuous yellow lines to continuous white lines!

    You can imagine trying to explain the "hook turn" rules to a new migrant from Spain! Not only was he going to have to atapt to driving on the left, but then he also had to worry about the "hook turns" as well.

    Annual roadworthy checks can and are rorted, but it is still better to have them than not.
