Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

As far as I know this will only supply our AP region whereas the Chinese JVs will supply China exclusively (with the odd exports) not huge like planned AP Factory

Will there be more questions about build quality as there have been about non European built vehicles which some of the motoring journos have been noticing.
i.e South African Golfs and the Mexican Jettas.

Alot of big manufacturers are moving to China as it is still the biggest booming automotive market. The chinese are just loving cars but the country just ain't handling it. It wouldn't suprise me if we start seeing them come from there.

                VW producton

Being a long time V dubber, why can't vw management stick to production and quality control of its models in Germany. Remember VW in Clayton, Victoria!! What a disaster! Merc's in S/Africa-quality problems. What next- Porsche--made in China???
