  • Watercooled??

    Hi All

I'm new to Golf's and am looking to get one. Here's a stupid question...

What with the "watercooled". What does it mean? is this something unique to VW's?

    Regards

    hello and welcome
watercooled VWs means for the modern Volkswagen cars such as Golf, Jetta, Bora, T5 as having newer designs...anyway all of the cars nowadays are using "watercooled" engine...OH, except the F1
there were "aircooled" engines which you don't have to pour any coolant/water into the water bottle or radiator coz they don't have one, engine is only kept cool by "air" instead of "water"... famous aircooled engine cars are such as the VW Old Beetle, Porsche 911 series (up to 993)

Really didn't know that ??? but it does make sense, F1s have the huge airscoops on the side
