  • Interiors for Mk1,2,&3

    Hi all!
as a a newbie to the site, hoping to get some qualified input rather than opinion on what fits what when it comes to interiors. I have an '82Mk1 Karman Cabrio with a rotted interior and the wrong colour!
    My query is:-
If I am sourcing F & R seats & door cards + carpets;which models are interchangable? MK's 1,2 &3? and are the hardtop rear seats too wide for the cabrio?
Any constructive input would be appreciated.

welcome first of all!!! you will find all the help you need right here on this site

you can put whatever seats you want into the mk1, Golf Loon had an interesting article on how to do a no fuss change.

as for door cards, only mk1 door cards will fit into your cab i believe but i may be wrong

Yeah do a search on Mk1 seats and there is a write up.

You can fit any Mk1, 2 or 3 front seats with a small mod, but rears need to be cabriolet, as the others are 3 seaters and yours is 2.

MK2 seat have the same rails at the front. The rear seat is cab only but you can sit anything you like in there.

Far simpler to have your own seats re-done IMO.

          Welcome

          This is what I did:

Loon sent me a set of Seat Cordoba seats from Sydney. Freight was $88. I got: front seat backs; rear seat split fold backs and split fold bases; front seat bases but no frames. Doing the fronts was easy. The fabric on the bases was pretty dirty so I took it off and put it into the washing machine. It came up a treat. The
