it'd be shame to see a brand with such history like SAAB to shut down, even if they have produced nothing but mediocre crap for a long time!

Same thing happened with Range Rover.

You could buy the brand for $3 when it sold.
Too bad it came witha $500Million plus debt.

Bit of a shame but in a rapidly changing market, you have to adapt or die.

We had the last true SAAB 1988 900 AERO Turbo.
My Mrs Cried when we got rid of it and came back to the VAG fold.
            Good engineering, but weird.
I used to love taking it to a mechanics and they would ask where is the gearbox? (Underneath the engine) where is the clutch? (on the front of the engine!)
Built like a fighter jet, but not designed for young players.
The later opel influenced designs were mostly a big bag of poo.

My fondest memory of Saab's was when they were the prize on "sale of the century"

Every night they had the voice over guy do the speel on the car and how awesome it was and all the figures on it.

The 9-3 was not bad but very plain.

my fondest memmory of a saab was when my mate turned one into a paddock basher , we had months of fun in that thing till we lost it in the dam.
