I think that these are sales figures and they don't look very accurate to me.

They were not in the sales figures I had which I took out of a Wagen News VW Club of SA's mag.

I am also interested in the sales of the mk2 GTI as I owned one for 11 years.
I was told by Eblens a long time ago that there were around 45 sold in SA.
It would be interesting to see a breakdown of diesel to petrol sales.
The car that has really taken off is the mk5 golf.

Yep around 13 were sold here.

As the price ($99K) was too high and fuel consumption sucked they were pulled off the market worldwide.

I've only seen 2 (could've been the same one in different spots)
