Same thing happened in WA few weeks ago. After the strike was finished they were giving fines for every little thing like they wanted to make up what they lost. It wouldnt suprise me if the same thing happened in NSW

looks like we will be trading a week of fun for 2 months of tight cops.

            ...sounds fair.

Hmmm, i still saw a highway patrol car stationed on Mobray Rd (willougby), just within the school zone.

Seemed like he was on duty also. Maybe ill put the theory to the test and zoom by him tomorrow.

It's a discretionary thing as to whether they will pull you over.

Police had a speed trap on the Hume Highway at Sth Strathfield/Enfield today (nr the Bowling Alley) .... they were giving one guy a ticket when I drove past .... I was lucky enough to be going the other way !! One with the radar gun a tripod and 2 cars up a side street is not exactly "not fining people" !!

its at the police officers discretion still.

so you still can get a ticket if they find you were driving in a "manner"
                    What’s behind you doesn’t matter..

they will only let the little stuff go, i wouldn't do the speed racer just yet...

So in other words; now that they don't have to give you a ticket, they'll do it just to prove a point?

i find it interesting that police are always under-resourced, yet in NSW they are also responsible for parking fines??

in WA, the local councils look after parking, which frees up police to do serious policing (like fining jay-walkers LOL)

I saw a couple of people pulled over on my way upto Sydney yesterday, all highway patrol. They are never going to stop booking people, play it safe.
