A Hotter diesel is on its way codename GTD of GT TDI and methinks a TSI between 118TSI and GTI will also come around the same time.

Expect to see a 1.6 TDI in the Trendline package later next year to

The prices are exactly the same! Chances are this mark is cheaper to manufacture, so that's no surprise really.

The biggest omission is the Trendline TDI. I guess they're still developing the 1.6L engine for it? But it is a large gap in the line-up.

This was a prime driver for the Mk VI - the Mk V was deemed too expensive to manufacture per unit, and thus Mk VI was brought forward.

Not bad timing for VW, moving to a cheaper-to-manufacture car just as the GFC hits!
            Nothing to see here...
