        Keep in mind, the Chinese Government forces drivers to dispose of cars after 60,000km. This is why VW keep selling older models, albeit revamped, for purchase at a lower price.

        And here's the US complaining about auto-motive pollution from China!

              Hmm now that's an intriguing proposition! They'd be dirt cheap with the amount of cars they go through. I can't find much info on them, but do any of them use the same 1.8T that we're accustomed to?

                  The ECU's would almost certainly be different, but everything else would be pretty much the same by my guess.

                        Nope, its China. A family friend of mine is a mechanic, and who also has a friend who imports 1/2 cuts from there. A much cheaper and more reliable alternative to locally sourcing replacement motors.
