Isn't there plenty of info floating around indicating there won't be a V6 in the MKVI?

I'm hanging to see the MKVI GTI... I hope VW do a good job of it.

Hmmm....it reminds me of a Nissan Tiida.

I do like the back, and definitely the interior. But Louis I'm with you, there's something about the front which they haven't done right..

yep spot on. they've said that the there will be no V6 in the Golf line up. the MKV R32's V6 is supposedly being replaced with a 200kW 4cyl 2.0T 4-motion which is currently used in the S3. it will be called the GTI-R (where do i sign).

there have been a few threads on this....here is one for example.

Slap some more aggressive kit on it and I could be tempted with one for the next car (assuming I change over in 23 months as planned).

Otherwise, I'll be in no hurry to update. Apart from a bulky rear end, the Mk5 styling is quite alright.

Have they just made the Tourag tailights smaller to fit or are they the same size?

It has a nice sharp hipline and in isolation they've made it look smaller which is a good thing I think.

Thanks for the info. - long time forum lurker, not much of a poster here ...

Just had a look - it's like a more refined Golf V which is okay if you like that approach I guess - I just wish they'd grab the headlights and front styling of the Eos and graft it over rather than the Japanese small car look the Golf V has.

I think you'll find they missed a little bit of info there, I reckon that would be first "major" service at 60K. I wouldn't like to be driving around with the same engine oil unchanged for 60K!

Is this the first new series of Golf to keep the same body as the last?

Yes and not to be the last if VW wants to profit

The front looks like they loved the Mk4 so much they decided to blend it with the Mk5 but with some aggression in the eyes
