  • Problems Seeing Postings

I'm in a very fortunate position that I can access VWWA whilst being paid to work!!

consequently I access it 5 or 6 times a day (because all of your comments and thoughts are too good to wait for!!)

However, I seem to miss some postings, for example, yesterday, someone posted a thread on a spotted ariel, its now up to about 10 replies over the last 24 hours, yet none of those postings showed as 'new posts' when I viewed.

    Any thoughts on whats happening?

    Cheers

yeah i noticed that happens sometimes as well. it seems as though there are only so many 'new posts' the site can handle and then resets the 'new posts' page. i have logged on before and it has been full. and then again about 10 mins later and there were about 3 threads in there

i'm guessing the mods know what the story is

The site is currently in transition ... you have probably noticed structural changes. Should all 'settle-out' shortly - please be patient.

      Cheers,

A quick clarification. New posts will show new posts since your last visit for that day. For example, if you click new posts @ 23:55 there might be heaps but when you click it again at say 00:01, there may only be a handfull.

Another hand one to use is by clicking on 'Quick Links' drop down menu next to Log Out and it will display all the posts for the day so your sure not to miss a beat (unless you click it at 00:01).

cheers and thanks neil, however, i'm on half a dozen times a day (or more) and still missing posts that are occuring in the same day. My "new posts" doesnt seem to capture them.

the example i referred to about the ariel atom, was posted at 6.55pm yesterday, with another 5 replies before i logged on late last night, and yet the post did not show up. i only picked it up this morning when more new posts showed.

anyway, its no biggie, just a little bit odd

I'll add to this one....I have noticed the same. But I go to "Quick Links" then select "Todays Posts"...usually gives me a current refresh.

              Another problem tho:

When I select "new posts", the page refreshes, and logs me out, and says there is no new posts. If I select the VWwatercooled home page link....I am back at the front of the forum, and I am logged in. Go figure!?!

              Any thoughts?

When you log in, Steve ... do you tick the box that says "Keep me Logged In"? That usually helps.

If you are referring to the "remember me" check box...yes.

What browser are you using? Check your security settings and click on default.

Yup..security is now restored to 'default'. Same problem

I can log into other vBulletin boards, and I don't have this problem.

Hmmm. I've just re-set all your settings. Can you log out, clear your cokkies and cache and try again.

                            Okay...thanks for that.

Logged out, cleared cookies 'n cache (is that a Baskin Robbins thing?)

Closed IE....opened it up again. Typed in the web address, came into the site via the front door, logged in, accepted user name and password, then presented a front page of the forum but it showed that I wasn't logged in. So I selected "New Posts" and voila ... up the posts come.

It works, but why does it (through that process) present a page which shows I am not logged in? Strange.

It's not a biggy...I have a 'work around the issue' plan that works....just annoying if anything.

                            Thanks for the help.

Hitting "New Posts" does not log me out now....as far as I am concerned....problem resolved.
