Signature jpeg resizes?

I'm trying to upload a signature image that I've made. It is in jpeg format and is 450 x 150 pixels and 11.3kb in size. When I hit upload and the image appears it is always at 300 x 100 pixels.

Any idea why?

Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 500 by 100 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller).

Located below the upload signature section on the signature setup page. Auto resize is nice, it used to just flat reject the signature.

I thought being only 11.3kb in size it would upload in the same proportions. Sorted now.
