Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I don't know what I'd like more: having a go, or watching my mum screaming as she has a go
My office/gaming chair looks like this (centre post is removable when not using it in the living room, and doesn't have that ugly logo on the back):
Here it is:

Isn't it awful to have rollers on such a chair?
Ps the motion up and down simulates g forces not actual motion per se.
Because the screen moves with you in such simulators, you also don't feel the perspective change but you do get the impression of braking and accelerating.
When I used to play on the PS3, it was one of my biggest gripes: the lack of feedback when you hit the brakes. When you are driving on a real track, your body responds and receives feedback on speed and g forces. And missing the component made it hard to drive like you would in real life.

The chair is quite heavy so rollers are not an issue (even on a plastic carpet protector), plus they get stuck due to the buttkicker cord anyway

Bought mine from PCCaseGear.com.au one or two years ago but they don't appear to sell it any more (wouldn't hurt to phone and ask them I guess).
It's called the PlaySeat Executive if you want to search for it.
I've since upgraded from my G25 to a CSR Elite and CS Pedals and a TH8RS shifter. It's not quite worth the incredible price tag (although it costs a lot more for Aussies when there's only one importer) but it is still a big step up. G25 and G27 are nothing to scoff at though, mine was brilliant for the 5 years I owned it.
