Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I hit mine on a gutter today! haha

But my car isn't all that low remember! Maybe it was just a really high gutter I was trying to jump.

Its a 4WD, although my steering & control angles are way beyond horizontal??

This should be in the mk2 section, am sick of writing that "no where in the rev range does the 8v make more torque than the 16v"

                mk2 GTi 16v

Yeah. People seem to think that more valves= No air speed down low.

I also like the bit about "No. 20vt is pointless. They add four extra valves and a turbo and then make the same power.." hahahahaah. Cop that Mk4 boys!

                    brilliant.

Diesel is so far out of scene that it cannot even be mentioned there - me likey.

I guess i'll take my 90's style 7" rims with 195 rubber and 50 profile, my 2.5"inches of suspension travel and sway bars, virgin black undamaged sump, 8V diesel engine, comfy seats, lack of stickers and late model cd player with FM tuning, and bugger off

In the spirit of a good laugh and don't take this the wrong way...
A polo gti is somewhat like the Corrado G60 mentioned in this awesome video, people will just think you are poor because you didn't get the Corrado VR6 or in your case the Golf GTI

In short sell your polo gti and buy a mk2 16v!

Yeah.. Carl has a point. I don't really like him that much, but his 16v is the business.
