Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Nitrous won't do anything in the intake manifold, and its an inert gas, so it is non flamible. I really don't know what the big deal is about plastic inlet manifolds...The new Golf VI's have them, the Festiva XR4 has them, as dose some of the Focus range, including the XR5.

This guy was obviously running a wet nitrous system in the inlet manifold eg nitrous and fuel spraying into manifold... rather than a dry system where only nitrous is going through intake and fuel injection comes via normal injectors either directly in cylinder or just before valve.

Backfire can occur on a dry system but is very unlikely.

Also, many of the ford guys in the usa run composite manifolds with 300hp nitrous shots even.. its only an isssue if there is a backfire and even then would u rather have a blower or turbo go boom or have a plastic manifold just shred safely.

i dont see the humour in this thread... even since the eearly 90's diesels (that run much higher boost than petrols) have had plasctic pressurised inlet parts from the factory....
