This is awesome because Audi USA thought of the first Billboard... And they got smashed by a local advertising agency that approached BMW

I can see both companies rubbing their greedy hands in excited expectation....because they both got exactly what they both aimed for in the first place......everyone talking about them...for the cost of two cheap billboards in comparison to the cost of a tv advertising program.
The joke is on us.

I can just see the BMW execs rubbing their hands in glee at the invitation." I wait I resolution derive pleasure this " latest spammer post

Being part of the industry I know for sure that Ads are specifically placed in areas that reach potential customers. Other then that, i know many that can afford 'luxury' cars that live in 'working class'/'middle class' suburbia. Sorry i just hate stereotypes and arrogant statements.
my impression was that many from these underclasses, so to speak, wouldnt be aware of different model variants and car classes enough to say 'oh, you drive an a4, but he drives an m3', but rather, 'oh, you drive an infinity, he drives an audi, and he drives a bmw'. my statement wasnt intended to insinuate that suburban folks cannot afford these cars, but rather, for many living in the states, in a country with many, many different products within each industry (when compared to australia), its not so much a case of people saying "well, that billboard just shows an audi a4 1.8t whereas the other shows a fully optioned bmw m3", but rather "they are both european luxury cars".....
now, when i say this, i speak in the context of the american everyman who works two jobs to pay the rent, drives a 10 year old 15mpg ford expedition, and cannot afford to become ill because if they do, they end up homeless. generalisation, sure, but rather than sit in a tutorial room at uni, debating the demerits of generalising, as i might have done 5 years ago, im simply stating that this is a fact for many americans, hence my statement.
once again, just my impressions.
