I did love that on my subaru except it'd intervene when reversing, which made reverse motokhana's frustrating.

But agree whole heartedly, learn to hill start, reverse park and generally drive a friggen a car. We'd all be safer for it.

I haven't used my handbrake for a hill start since I was on my L's! If you can't get going up a hill without using your handbrake you shouldn't be driving a manual.

          A costly fail!

It really did happen, story here:-

Wouldn't like to be the person responsible for this one! Remind me not to stand to close to a 747 with the engines running.

          Cheers

x2.... Although the main reason I would used it was to not roll into some jerkoff that stops 30cm away from the back of you..

personally ive had 2 stuffups where i have put my foot down to hill start and my foot slipped off the excelerator, if i didnt have my hand bvrake on both would have resulted in pricey mistakes. hence i still use my hand brake.

I use my handbrake on steep hills, it is kinder to the clutch (i prefer them to last a long time )
