Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    For the majority of people who have an issue with current government road safety policy and enforcement, the issue is not that we have to have speed limits but the fact that the speed limits are set inappropriately low for the road they are on.

    However this is not what this thread is about. Debate on the "merits" of speed cameras will be deleted.

      Saw a nice silver Mk6 GTI on the ICB today... got closer for a better look.

      Uniform driving it, antenna, lights and what looked like a small radar set up bolted to the dash. The rego was 909 RCJ might be best avoided

        Spotted the other day... Black unmarked Mk6 GTI (M-Series Plates) on the M1 just past Yatala South exit....

          Saw a silver Mk5 on old cleveland rd. with a dodgy radar strapped to the back!!

            Got snapped by the Maroon VW Caddy yesterday arvo at Stones Corner.

            I wasn't much over. No markings, no signage. The vast majority won't even know they have a fine on the way.

            Makes me furious. Pure revenue generation and nothing else.

              This little fella joined us at Harry's the other night. I have nothing against Police, but if they block the left lane of a road, you'd think that standing behind the flashing lights isn't a good idea.

                spotted this today...hunting down a tradie's ute out on the centenary highway out in white rock (yamanto/springfield way).

                first time on this road, and must be a popular spot to catch people out as it was around 10km of new road with no cars on it!

                    You're two years too late, they're all about Jetta's and Mk6's now!

                    Ps. Ebay has some good flashers, I've bought a few amber ones.
