its just the newer generation of traffic counter/monitoring for road works or surveying etc.
some muppets put a thing on Facebook a while back saying ZOMG police are using these for speed cameras.. but they were wrong.

Black box??? on median strip on Lutwyche Road, KEDRON... I passed through at about 4pm today.

Look to have a camera inside facing city bound cars.

Numberplate scanner/ speed cameras/ talking on phone camera? All three in 1 combo?

People need to protest and get the number plate scanning crap shut down. They are recording time and location of each plate. This info is stored in a database for profiling purposes. If you have outstanding rego you get pinged fair enough, but please QLD police don't save the data once you know the rego is legit.
There should be no reason to profile QLD residents.

its a traffic counter, nothing to do with the police. its like a new fancy version of those crappy black strips they put over the road.

I was on my way to Samford this morning, by pushy, over Winn Road. Saw, almost didn't see a B5 S4 in yellow, with black wheels and a noisy exhaust which popped nicely on the overrun, I'd have missed it altogether if it hadn't been for the mirrors. LOL
Anyone we know, pointed at it and gave him a thumbs up.

Here's some free advice: If you're going to drive like that on a regular basis, maybe have something harder to remember than "HOT GTI" on your number plates.
