    VW made a V5 Golf. No idea if any came to Australia though.

            you never know what people get up to behind closed doors its unlikely someone went to the effort to do the conversion or even order one if that was even an option when the mk4 was released.

              Could be an import? I remember seeing that V6 Golf was for sale a while ago, 4 doors I think but definitely not an R32. Don't think that would have been sold here new either.

                It's a real V5 imported from the UK. We were in Hamilton a coupla months back and I followed it for about 2km so I could ask the owner. He moved over and loved to car too much, so he brought it with him.

                Was it black? There is a Golf V6 4mo down in the Redlands owned by the Just German mechanic. Also a private import from the UK from when he immigrated here.
