Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

                    • blur out a number plate? probably to stop the red light cameras from catching ur rego. theres people who put certain sprays and what not for the flash to reflect back, but its pretty risky.

                      • he means online images...

some people dont like their rego shown with their modifications in visible in the picture for 2 reasons:

1: you are showing where a vehicle may regularly park, and thus increase your risk of 'online shoppers' (thieves) hunting your vehicle down.
2: you are showing the rego of a vehicle with possible illegal modifications that may attract other unwanted attention (police).

To blur out the photo, simply open the image with "paint" and draw over the plate and resave the image and upload. Its more a courtesy thing. Some dont care, some do. But being that you potentially dont know the owner, its just a nice thing to do.

Think he means on the forum...

                          MGV
People do it in fear of police or insurance companies or dealerships identifing there cars doing illegal modifications or something that might void warrenty etc.
Just use paint or Photoshop or similar before uploading

                          Edit: beaten :p

                            • Cheers, will try the 'paint' option next time. It was a pretty cool Polo though, anyone know who? Rims looked good, DUBWAY sticker on the other side.
